Among those arrested are two alleged leaders of the criminal organization.
At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Rafael Antonio García Múnera, alias Mecánico; Fabián Alonso Jaramillo Mazo, alias Catalino; and Ferney Portillo Bolaño, alias Felipe; as the alleged perpetrators of aggravated homicide and illegal possession of firearms for self-defense.
According to the investigation carried out by a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Antioquia, the three defendants allegedly participated in the murders of 4 men between May 17th and 26th of this year, in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Osos, northern area of Antioquia. The victims were attacked with firearms at night.
It was established that the murders had been ordered by the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’ and were involved in petty drug trafficking in that town.
‘Mecánico’ was arrested on November 25th by the National Police in the municipality of San Pedro de Los Milagros, while ‘Catalino’ and ‘Felipe’, alleged ringleaders of the aforementioned criminal structure, were served of the arrest warrants issued against them in the prisons where they are deprived of their freedom for other proceedings. None of them pleaded guilty to the charges.
