Amparo del Carmen Giraldo, alias Natalia, pleaded guilty in a preliminary agreement to aggravated homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime, and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.

The investigations carried out by the Attorney General’s Office brought to light the criminal acts carried out by Amparo del Carmen Giraldo Giraldo, alias ‘Natalia’, in Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and several municipalities of Magdalena.

The woman, daughter of the former paramilitary leader Hernán Giraldo Serna, admitted through a preliminary agreement that she was part of the criminal group ‘Los Pachenca’ and her participation in selective homicides and various illegal acts that would be related to a violent dispute for the control of illicit income in the department.

A judge approved the judicial bargaining, and sentenced alias Natalia to 16 years and 11 months in prison for aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes, and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. She must serve a prison sentence.

Giraldo Giraldo was arrested in June 2019, in Santa Marta. Two pistols, ammunition of different caliber, more than 24 million pesos in cash, five high-end cell phones and a van were seized from her.
