At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against a 21-year-old young man, for his alleged responsibility in the crime of aggravated domestic violence.
The facts under investigation occurred in June of this year, in the so-called Julio Bahamón neighborhood in Garzón (Huila). The defendant is accused of physically and verbally attack his parents, to the point of trying to strangle and suffocate his father, who suffers from a mental disorder.
Judicial police work showed that the defendant, apparently, arrived at his house under the influence of hallucinogenic substances and attacked his parents, in addition, he threw stones to the house in order to enter. It is believed that these verbal and physical attacks have been occurring since 2020.
After he was arrested by the Technical Investigation Corps with the support of the National Police on a public road in the municipality of Garzón, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charges that were brought by the Office of the Attorney General.
