At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against José Félix Rivas Herrera, allegedly involved in the crime of local drug trafficking in San Andrés.

Facts took place on July 29, when the National Police carried out a search warrant in a house located at Morrislanding neighborhood, where Rivas Herrera was caught in flagrante with several bags of marijuana that, apparently, were going to be distributed in the archipelago.

During the operation, money which he apparently obtained from the sale of the drugs was also seized.

A prosecutor belonging to the Sectional Office in San Andrés charged him with manufacture, trafficking or drugs possession. He did not plead guilty to the charges.

The defendant was sent to Nueva Esperanza prison on the island.
