The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Nain Santiago Ascanio before a judge in Ocaña (Norte de Santander), since he was accused of robbing a truck in the sector known as Alto de San Invilla, in Río de Oro (Cesar), which was transporting merchandise from Cartagena (Bolívar) to Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).
According to the investigations, the facts occurred on March 17 when the defendant, in complicity with another person, apparently approached the truck driver and threatened him with a firearm. A few minutes later he left him in a desolate place tied and gagged.
The victim managed to untie himself and get to the police station in Convention (Norte de Santander), where a plan was activated and through the vehicle’s GPS it was located in Guamalito, El Carmen (Norte de Santander).
There, Ascanio was arrested in flagrante delicto, who was identified by the driver as the alleged perpetrator of the robbery and who was found in his possession of a traumatic weapon and a cell phone.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with aggravated robbery but he did not plead guilty. The judge imposed a prison sentence.
