Some prosecutors appointed to the Sectional Office in Boyacá charged three men who, apparently, committed domestic violence against their partners. None of the defendants accepted their responsibility for the events for which they are being investigated. In two cases, prison sentences were issued for those people involved.

  • Angelmiro Buitrago Varela was arrested by members of the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI) in Boyacá by virtue of a judicial order with the support of the National Police. Buitrago is accused of being the person allegedly responsible for having attacked his partner on several occasions since he apparently caused injuries to her hands, legs, and face with a sharp-pointed weapon.
  • The third municipal judge in Chiquinquirá legalized the arrest of Jhon Ferney Rodríguez that was carried out by virtue of a court order after his former partner reported him because, apparently, in December 2020 Rodríguez physically attacked her and tried to sexually assault her.
  • A man was prosecuted for attacking his partner, as well as his 6 and 15-year-old children. The minors were beaten by this person because they wanted to inform the police about what was happening with their mother. Several of the episodes of violence were committed when the person involved was in a state of intoxication.
