Since the National Government declared a State of Economic, Social and Ecological Emergency, the Office of the Attorney General has monitored and verified the observance of the measures adopted in order to guarantee the assistance to Colombian citizens and control the spread of the coronavirus.
Thanks to a joint work between prosecutors and the different judicial police groups (CTI and Sijin), 118 cases of alleged non-compliance with sanitary provisions and other related conducts have been identified. 47 cases are in the inquiry stage, 69 are under investigation and 2 have been closed.
In 33 of the 69 cases which are under investigation, the Office of the Attorney General has prosecuted through virtual hearings the alleged people responsible. These people have been charged and home detention orders have been issued against them.
