Interim Attorney General, Fabio Espitia Garzón, appointed Claudia Carrasquilla as Delegate to head the Public Safety Office. She earned a Law Degree from Universidad de Medellín. She majored in Criminal Procedure from Universidad Autónoma Latinoamericana. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Criminal Procedure Law and Techniques in Litigation.

She joined the Office of the Attorney General in 1993 being appointed asistente judicial local. Then she held a position denominated técnico judicial and as delegate prosecutor before the municipal judges and coordinator of the local unit of prosecutor´s offices in Itagüí (Antioquia).

She also worked at the Directorate of Special Prosecutor´s Offices in the fight against Criminal Organizations and then in 2011, she worked as Delegate Prosecutor before judges of the Specialized Circuit until September 2016, year in which she was appointed sectional director of Prosecutor´s Offices in Medellín.
