Alleged murderer of African origin leader in Cauca was sent to prison

Perpetrator of the crime was identified by the Office of the Attorney General

A preventive detention order with imprisonment was issued for Yeison Julián Zapata for being the alleged murderer of the African origin leader, Héctor William Mina. The facts took place in the Department of Cauca.

That was the decision made by a judge (Guarantee Court) after approving the Office of the Attorney General´s request.

Sijin investigators (National Police) arrested the murderer last October 12th in Villa Rica (Cauca) due to an investigation which was conducted by a prosecutor appointed to the Human Rights Unit who tried to elucidate facts that took place on July 14, 2017 in the municipality of Guachené in which the social leader was attacked with a firearm.
