Judge Fernando Castañeda Cantillo who carried out duties at the Labor Chamber, High Court in Cúcuta was arrested in order to be brought before the court (Guarantee Court) for alleged irregularities in decisions (writs for protection of fundamental rights*) that affected the oil company Ecopetrol´s patrimony.
Castañeda Cantillo who was a fugitive from justice since august 2nd, was arrested last night in Ciénaga (Magdalena) and will be transferred to the main city of the country in order to appear before the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court in Bogotá. He will be charged with breach of duty (action), misappropriation for the profit of third parties and criminal conspiracy.
