Office of the Attorney General and National Army arrested nine people accused of offering alleged academic enrollments to be noncommissioned officers. The  leader of the organization was informed about the arrest at the so-called La Picota prison in Bogotá where he serves a prison term for sexual offenses. There are victims in 14 Departments.

An organization self-denominated as ‘Los Yara’ is involved in destroying dreams of young people who expect being enrolled in National Army. The Criminal Investigation Team in Cundinamarca and the 13th Army Brigade discovered a criminal structure that offered alleged false academic enrollments for Tolemaida Army Base.

Nine members of the so-called ‘Los Yara’ were arrested in simultaneous proceedings that took place in municipalities such as Corinto (Cauca), Aguachica (Cesar), Girardot and Anapoima (Cundinamarca), and cities such as Cali, Neiva, Quibdó, Medellín and Bogotá. The leader, identified as Ánderson Oviedo Sabogal, who serves a prison term for sexual offenses in La Picota prison, was informed about a legal proceeding against him.
