The 4° Special Circuit Court in Bogotá has denied the request for procedural nullity submitted by trader Giorgio Sale and it has decided the continued detention of Sale in the national prison “Modelo” in Bogotá.

The Court considered that there has been any violation of due process, as Sale’s lawyer argued when he said there was no request for his client’s incarceration and he, as defense attorney, would not have been learned about the appointment of the 4° judge to advance the proceeding, so he did not submit appeals on time.

The accusation against Sale is related to his alleged involvement in money-laundering for the Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC), particularly for Salvatore Mancuso Gómez, who apparently invested in companies of the Italian national and he would have also been intermediary in assets business abroad.
