The Colombian Attorney-General, Dr. Eduardo Montealegre Lynett, has suspended 191 arrest warrants against 29 Farc members, who recently, in development of the peace process, were recognized by the national Government as representatives of that rebel grouping in order to be present at the negotiation tables in Oslo (Norway) and Havana (Cuba).

Of the 191 arrest warrants, 132 are against Iván Márquez by different proceedings, 30 of the proceedings hold convictions for hostage taking, terrorism, rebellion, and kidnapping, among other crimes.

Among the 29 people that the Attorney General has lifted the arrest warrants and the Government recognized as Farc’s negotiations representatives are: Tanja Nijmeijer, alias Eillen or Alexandra, who has two arrest warrants, one for rebellion and another for extradition.

According to the Attorney General, the arrest warrants suspension does not imply proceedings interruption against members of that guerrilla group and because it deals with a temporary measure, warrants will be reactivated if the dialogues or the process ends.

In addition, this suspension has spatial limitation inasmuch as it is only effective in Oslo and in Havana. In case of one of the representatives of the insurgent group is caught outside these jurisdictions may be stopped immediately.

Thus, Farc representatives only will leave Cuba or enter into the country, prior Peace Commissioner  authorization, said the Attorney General.

The accusing entity, by order of the Attorney-General, launched a contingency plan to boost 2,156 active proceedings against members of the Farc for murder, terrorism, extortion and rebellion among others, which will be prioritized according to their seriousness and national significance.
