The Office of the Attorney General prosecuted two men and one woman\u00a0in Pereira (Risaralda) for\u00a0being\u00a0allegedly responsible for transporting 455.7 kilograms of marijuana and 144 grams of cocaine while traveling on roads in the department.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These incidents occurred independently of each other, at kilometer 86 of Andaluc\u00eda road, in an area known as <\/span>peaje\u00a0de\u00a0Cerritos<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>II<\/span><\/i>\u00a0in Pereira. The three individuals were charged\u00a0with\u00a0 trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On February 15, Cristian Andr\u00e9s Zapata\u00a0Char\u00e1\u00a0was driving a pickup truck with alleged\u00a0false license plates. Authorities who stopped the vehicle for inspection found 395 kilograms of marijuana inside. The driver was also charged\u00a0with\u00a0receiving stolen goods and trademark\u00a0counterfeiting, both aggravated offenses.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another\u00a0defendant is Diana Carolina Torres Mu\u00f1oz, who on February 14,\u00a0was traveling\u00a0by\u00a0bus\u00a0along\u00a0Cali\u2013Medell\u00edn\u00a0route. Her luggage allegedly\u00a0contained\u00a034.5 kilograms of marijuana and 144.3 grams of cocaine.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The same day, Silvio Escue Vizconda allegedly took a public bus along Popay\u00e1n\u2013Pereira route. It is believed that, during an inspection, officers of the National Police found 26.2 kilograms of marijuana inside his bags.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All three individuals were\u00a0sent to\u00a0prison.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
