The Office of the Attorney General prosecuted\u00a0<\/span>Junior Omar Pati\u00f1o Moncada, alias\u00a0<\/span>El Sobrino<\/span><\/i>, for his alleged participation in an armed attack\u00a0in which\u00a0four people died\u00a0and two\u00a0were\u00a0injured on August 1, 2025, in C\u00facuta (Norte de Santander).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, a man got out of a taxi, shot a group of people that were at the Lineal park in Latino neighborhood, and then he fled. The defendant allegedly picked this person up nearby and transported him to a specific location, where another vehicle was waiting for him.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0evidence collected by the\u00a0homicide\u00a0brigade,\u00a0made\u00a0up\u00a0the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) and the Sijin of the Metropolitan Police of C\u00facuta,\u00a0indicates\u00a0that Pati\u00f1o Moncada may also have been involved in\u00a0the\u00a0planning and\u00a0logistics\u00a0of the crime.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For these acts, a specialized prosecutor of the branch office in Norte de Santander (Seccional Norte de Santander) brought him before a judge and charged him with homicide, attempted homicide; and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0defendant\u00a0did\u00a0not\u00a0plead\u00a0guilty\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0charges\u00a0and\u00a0must serve a prison sentence.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In\u00a0November\u00a02025,\u00a0<\/span>Felipe Molina P\u00e9rez, alias\u00a0Mechas;\u00a0and\u00a0\u00d3scar Fernando Barbosa R\u00edos, alias Nando\u00a0or\u00a0El\u00a0Taxista,\u00a0were\u00a0formally\u00a0linked to the investigation\u00a0and placed\u00a0under\u00a0preventive detention.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
