Based on\u00a0the\u00a0evidence presented by the Office of the Attorney General, a judge imposed a prison\u00a0sentence\u00a0on Carlos Eduardo Caro Herrera for his alleged responsibility in the crime of a 31\u2011year\u2011old man, committed in\u00a0Sibat\u00e9\u00a0(Cundinamarca).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A prosecutor\u00a0appointed to\u00a0\u2018Unidad de Vida\u2019\u00a0(\u00a0Life\u00a0Unit\u00a0)\u00a0of the\u00a0branch office in\u00a0Cundinamarca\u00a0(Seccional\u00a0Cundinamarca)\u00a0in Soacha charged him with aggravated homicide and qualified theft. The defendant\u00a0pleaded\u00a0guilty.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigation,\u00a0on\u00a0December 17, 2025, at a carpentry workshop, the victim allegedly had an argument over\u00a0a\u00a0partial payment for a job\u00a0as\u00a0he had hired\u00a0Caro Herrera\u00b4s services.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the course of\u00a0the incident, the alleged aggressor\u00a0hit and\u00a0stabbed the victim causing his\u00a0death.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Subsequently, the defendant allegedly dismembered the victim\u2019s lower limbs and transported the corpse to a rural area in Alto del Cabra in Soacha, where he left it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Caro Herrera allegedly stole a motorcycle belonging to the woodworker, which he sold in Bogot\u00e1. He also took a cellphone, a bag with tools, personal items, and cash.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Authorities found the man\u2019s\u00a0corpse\u00a0on December 18, tied up, wrapped in a blanket, and inside a plastic bag.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During a\u00a0raid operation\u00a0carried out by\u00a0the National Police, the defendant was\u00a0arrested.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
