He\u00a0would\u00a0be\u00a0responsible for\u00a0forcing the victim\u00a0to leave\u00a0his house, after which he was killed.<\/b>\u00a0<\/em><\/h4>\n

Brayan Esmit L\u00f3pez, alias\u00a0<\/span>Guacho<\/span><\/i>, was identified as one of the alleged perpetrators of the murder of community leader Jos\u00e9 Ricardo Calder\u00f3n\u00a0N\u00fa\u00f1ez,\u00a0on May 19, 2024, in the rural area of Tame (Arauca).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The investigation indicates that alias Guacho, alleged member of the 10th Front of FARC dissidents, received instructions to kill the victim, who served as treasurer of the Community Action Board of the rural area <\/span>Las\u00a0Nubes<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0since\u00a0he allegedly provided information to authorities about the presence of an illegal armed group structure in the area.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the day of the\u00a0events, Brayan Esmit L\u00f3pez and other armed men traveled in two trucks to the house\u00a0of Jos\u00e9 Ricardo Calder\u00f3n N\u00fa\u00f1ez and forced him to get into one of the vehicles. During the journey, the victim was shot several times, causing his death. The leader\u2019s\u00a0corpse\u00a0was found an hour later by his relatives on a road in the area.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For this reason, a prosecutor from the Special Investigation Unit (<\/span>Unidad Especial de Investigaci\u00f3n\u00a0<\/span>UEI) brought him before a\u00a0judge\u00a0 and\u00a0charged him with homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime, and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition, all aggravated offenses.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u00f3pez did not\u00a0plead\u00a0guilty to\u00a0the charges\u00a0brought\u00a0by the Prosecutor\u2019s Office and must serve\u00a0a sentence in prison.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
