At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, judges imposed prison sentences on two men who, in separate incidents, attacked the former sentimental partner and wife, respectively, in Casanare.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prosecutors\u00a0appointed to the branch office in\u00a0Casanare\u00a0(Seccional\u00a0Casanare)\u00a0charged them, according to their individual responsibility, with domestic\u00a0violence,\u00a0one of those charges\u00a0was\u00a0aggravated. None of the defendants\u00a0pleaded guilty to\u00a0the charges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first case, the alleged aggressor was caught in\u00a0fragante\u00a0in\u00a0Yopal\u00a0(Casanare), when\u00a0officers of the National Police were passing by the victim\u2019s residence and noticed the aggression and threats\u00a0committed by the\u00a0defendant against his former partner with a\u00a0bladed\u00a0weapon. During a\u00a0fight, the woman was injured in one of her hands.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The other case occurred in\u00a0La\u00a0Floresta neighborhood\u00a0in\u00a0Monterrey (Casanare). Officers were alerted by radio\u00a0about an attack against a woman. When they arrived at the scene, the victim was sitting outside her home with\u00a0clear\u00a0signs\u00a0of physical and psychological abuse;\u00a0apparently, her\u00a0husband had attacked\u00a0her. The man was caught in\u00a0fragante.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
