\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Six alleged members of the criminal group known as <\/span>Langostas<\/span><\/i> were arrested in joint operations conducted by the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police in Quind\u00edo. During the proceedings, firearms, a pickup truck, and other items were seized.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Attorney General\u2019s Office prosecuted six alleged members of the criminal group <\/span>Langostas<\/span><\/i>, which is allegedly involved in robberies committed in farms and rural properties in Quind\u00edo and Valle del Cauca.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Quind\u00edo (Seccional Quindio) charged them with criminal conspiracy, homicide; manufacture, trafficking, possession of\u00a0firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition; simple kidnapping; and aggravated robbery. All charges were classified as aggravated offenses. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During six search warrants, the alleged ringleader Cristian Steven Aguirre V\u00e9lez, Giovanni Mej\u00eda Villa, Jhon Alexander Giraldo, Leydi Alejandra Bastidas Rengifo, Nathalia Rivera Londo\u00f1o, and Katerine Viviana S\u00e1nchez Idarraga were arrested. Authorities also seized a pickup truck, three firearms, and mobile phones.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was\u00a0demonstrated that this criminal group carried out robberies in Montenegro and Circasia (Quind\u00edo) and Sevilla (Valle del Cauca). These individuals are allegedly linked to eight criminal acts and one of\u00a0these acts involved the murder of a victim. In another case, they reportedly detained, tied up, and threatened victims for several hours.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The evidence indicates that they took valuable items and vehicles from the victims, whom they threatened with firearms.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A judge sent five of the detainees to prison. Leydi Alejandra Bastidas Rengifo will remain linked to the legal process.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
