A prosecutor from Gaula appointed to the branch office in Bol\u00edvar (Seccional Bolivar) prosecuted six alleged members of the criminal group <\/span>Los Salsas Mexicanos<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0allegedly\u00a0involved in extortion against citizens and merchants in Cartagena.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0people allegedly involved<\/span>\u00a0are:\u00a0Guillermo Alexander Ardila Lobo, Juan David\u00a0Rromer\u00edn\u00a0Jim\u00e9nez,\u00a0Yoiker\u00a0Andr\u00e9s S\u00e1nchez\u00a0Ca\u00f1ate,\u00a0Freider\u00a0S\u00e1nchez\u00a0P\u00e1jaro, Kevin Eduardo Sierra S\u00e1nchez\u00a0and\u00a0Yordis\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Brochero\u00a0Manjarr\u00e9s.\u00a0Based on their possible individual responsibilities, they were charged with\u00a0criminal\u00a0conspiracy\u00a0and extortion\u00a0(both aggravated).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They\u00a0allegedly made illegal financial demands to merchants in La Mar\u00eda and Esperanza neighborhoods. If the victims\u00a0failed to\u00a0make payments, they and their families were threatened with attacks. One of the victims\u00a0witnessed\u00a0her relatives being forced to leave the city due to threats.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise,\u00a0commercial establishments of citizens who refused to\u00a0comply with\u00a0the extortion\u00a0were\u00a0attacked with gunshots.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In compliance with judicial orders, the suspects were arrested by Gaula of National Police during raids conducted in properties located in neighborhoods such as La Esperanza, 20 de Julio, Villa Gloria, La Candelaria, and La Perimetral in the main city of Bol\u00edvar. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

None of the\u00a0defendants pleaded\u00a0guilty to\u00a0the charges. By\u00a0virtue of\u00a0a\u00a0judicial\u00a0order, they must remain in prison.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
