At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a judge ordered\u00a0a prison sentence for\u00a0Laura In\u00e9s Arroyave Rinc\u00f3n, an alleged member of the criminal group\u00a0<\/span>La Terraza<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0that\u00a0would\u00a0be involved in drug trafficking activities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to judicial police operations led by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), between January 2019 and October 2022, this organization allegedly sent synthetic drugs to the United States, Europe, Central America, and South America.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The evidence indicates that it recruited men and women from various municipalities in Antioquia and persuaded them to travel to different destinations while concealing the illicit substances in their luggage or on their bodies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Investigators found that Arroyave Rinc\u00f3n was allegedly responsible for recruiting young people to transport the drugs. She is also believed to have traveled to Argentina with hallucinogenic substances for transnational distribution.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A prosecutor from the Support Structure\u00a0(<\/span>Estructura de Apoyo<\/span>\u00a0EDA\u00a0in spanish) charged her with\u00a0aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime for drug trafficking purposes. The defendant did not\u00a0plead guilty to\u00a0the charges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the same facts, 30 members of this criminal organization have been convicted through preliminary agreements. Among those sentenced are three former police officers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
