At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge\u00a0imposed a prison sentence against four alleged members of a criminal group known as Los Lisos, who were allegedly involved in robberies committed in commercial establishments in Fusagasug\u00e1 (Cundinamarca) where correspondent banks operate.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigations, the defendants apparently intimidated the owners with firearms or sharp objects to rob the money collected, cell phones, or the valuables found in the premises. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The comission of this illegal activity was allegedly focused in\u00a0Bonet, Coburgo, Balmoral, and Camino Real neighborhoods of the municipality, and was carried out during off-peak hours.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the defendants\u00a0is Manuel Esteveen Rodr\u00edguez L\u00f3pez, alias Manolo, who is believed to be responsible for coordinating and commanding the criminal activities. He is also accused of supplying the weapons and motorcycles used to carry out the robberies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, Anderson David Casta\u00f1eda C\u00e1rdenas allegedly monitored the establishments so that, the victims would not recognize them when commiting the thefts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

David Santiago Navarrete Sarmiento and Juan David Gonz\u00e1lez Montoya were allegedly in charge of approaching the owners or employees to subdue them and carry out the robberies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For these facts, a prosecutor belonging to the Support Structure (<\/span>Estructura de Apoyo <\/em>EDA<\/em>) of the branch office in Cundinamarca (Seccional Cundinamarca) charged them with conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated and qualified robbery; and manufacturing, trafficking, possessing firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. They did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They were arrested by the National Police on September 23 in Fusagasug\u00e1 (Cundinamarca) by virtue of a\u00a0court order.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
