The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted 16 alleged members of a criminal group known as Galer\u00edas, which allegedly engaged in the trafficking of illicit substances in G\u00e9nova (Quind\u00edo).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These individuals were charged, based on individual responsibility, with criminal\u00a0conspiracy to commit a crime; trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics; manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition; illicit use of personal or real property; and use of minors in the commission of aggravated offenses. 14 of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigation,\u00a0they were involved in local drug trafficking in rural and urban areas of the aforementioned municipality. These individuals apparently sold cocaine and marijuana through retail and home deliveries. They also allegedly used a teenage girl to commit the crime.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The alleged members of <\/span>\u2018Galer\u00edas\u2019 performed\u00a0specific roles, such as dealers, <\/span>\u2018campaneros\u2019 (<\/span>acting as a lookout)<\/span>, transporters, coordinators and also to prepare the dosis and to store them, among others.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During 16 search warrants carried out by Sijin -National Police, 16 arrest warrants were executed, 13 men and 3 women.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A judge imposed 15 prison sentences and\u00a0one home detention for a woman.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
