At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge ordered a prison sentence against Jaiber Stiven Ram\u00edrez Sandoval and Alfonso Duarte Dur\u00e1n, allegedly responsible for intimidating cattle breeders, merchants, and farmers in Casanare.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Casanare (Seccional Casanare)\u00a0charged them with extortion. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Officers of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), with support from Gaula- National Army, arrested Ram\u00edrez Sandoval and Duarte Dur\u00e1n in flagrante\u00a0in Muese de Paz area of Ariporo (Casanare), while they were receiving 20 million COP\u00a0from extortion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the incident took place in the rural area of Paz de Ariporo, where the victims received intimidating phone calls and messages on social media demanding payment of sums ranging between 150 and 200 million COP in exchange for not harming their families or employees.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the arrest, two cell phones and a motorcycle were seized.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
