At the request of a prosecutor appointed to the Immediate Reaction Unit (<\/span>Unidad de Reacci\u00f3n Inmediata<\/span> URI), a judge\u00a0imposed a prison sentence on a couple allegedly involved in local drug trafficking in Cartagena.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The decision involved\u00a0Jorge Luis Herrera Fajardo, alias Changa, and his wife, Daira Alejandra Oviedo Mart\u00ednez, both 26. They\u00a0were charged with drug trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics but they did not plead guilty.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Judicial police investigations established that the defendants allegedly sold marijuana, cocaine, and synthetic pills from their home located at <\/span>Pablo Sexto II\u00a0<\/span><\/i>to residents of neighborhoods such as Daniel Lemaitre, La Mar\u00eda, La Esperanza, Petare, and Santa Rita.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is believed that\u00a0they distributed from that location more than 10,000 doses of narcotics, earning approximately 50 million COP per month.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The defendants were arrested on August 14 during a search warrant conducted by the National Police at the defendants’ residence. During the operation, a cache was found containing 82 bags of marijuana for distribution, 49 synthetic pills, and a blender for drug processing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
