The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted\u00a0seven alleged members of the Clan del Golfo Organized Armed Group.\u00a0They were arrested as result of\u00a016 home searches\u00a0carried out in municipalities of Risaralda\u00a0such as Ap\u00eda, Mistrat\u00f3, Bel\u00e9n de Umbr\u00eda, and Dosquebradas, as well as in Belalc\u00e1zar (Caldas).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in\u00a0Risaralda (Seccional Risaralda) charged them, based on their individual responsibility, with criminal conspiracy to commit drug trafficking; aggravated homicide; attempted homicide; use of minors to commit crimes; manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of firearms or ammunition; and trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics. Only one person pleaded guilty to the charges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prison sentences were issued for:\u00a0Anyi Karina Salazar, Heiver Antonio Orozco Impata, Cristian R\u00edos L\u00f3pez, Juan de Dios Vel\u00e1squez Hern\u00e1ndez, Jhon Eduar Monta\u00f1o L\u00f3pez; while Juan Felipe David \u00dasuga and Luis Alberto Giraldo Monroy\u00a0were released but will remain linked to the investigation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The defendants allegedly arrived in the area, coming from the department of Antioquia to control drug sales in the above-mentioned municipalities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the evidence, they were also involved in three homicides committed on June 4 and a double homicide on July 19 in the rural area of Mistrat\u00f3; as well as an attempted murder committed on May 23 of this year in the rural area of G\u00e9nova.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the<\/span> operations carried out by officers of the Technical Investigation Corps, the National Police, and the Army, a revolver, a traumatic weapon, a shotgun, six cartridges<\/span> (caliber 38)<\/span>, and ammunition were seized.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
