At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge in C\u00facuta (Norte de Santander) imposed a prison sentence against nine alleged members of a criminal group known as Los Profesionales, which is accused of committing local drug trafficking in the metropolitan area of C\u00facuta (Norte de Santander).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The people allegedly involved are\u00a0<\/span>Le\u00f3nidas Pe\u00f1a Mora, alias Leo; Adriana Lucia Z\u00fa\u00f1iga Quiroga, alias Adriana; Kelly Johanna Z\u00fa\u00f1iga Quiroga, alias Kelly; Cecilia Hern\u00e1ndez Quiroga, alias Cecilia; John Carlos Melo Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez, alias El Negro; Miguel \u00c1ngel G\u00e9lvez Castillo, alias El C\u00f3ndor; Franklin Alexis Fl\u00f3rez Cruz; alias El Flaquito; Henry Yovany Parra \u00c1lvarez, alias Yovanny,<\/span>\u00a0who were charged with conspiracy to commit drug trafficking.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the coordination of a prosecutor, officers from the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), in conjunction with officers from the National Police and Army, arrested the defendants during 15 search warrants conducted in residences located in C\u00facuta, Zulia, and the area known as the Y de Astilleros in Norte de Santander. During the judicial proceedings, seven cell phones and a shotgun were seized.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Olivo Carrascal Novoa was also caught in fragante and charged with manufacturing, trafficking, or possessing firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General and were sent to the so-called Modelo Prison in C\u00facuta (Norte de Santander). <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
