The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The people allegedly involved are Mar\u00eda del Rosario G\u00e1mez Camelo and Juan Carlos Rojas Casallas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nelson Zabala Rico, \u00c1ngel Mar\u00eda G\u00e1mez Camelo, and Jonathan Javier Reyes Galindo, who were in prison for other cases, were also brought before the court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first incident took place on April 14, 2024, in Tibacuy (Cundinamarca), where the victim was contacted in order to provide transportation services to Barrancabermeja. Upon arriving at the location, he was allegedly approached by a group of individuals who forced him to transfer 10,000,000 pesos through digital platforms. They also contacted his relatives to demand money in exchange for his release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other incident occurred on May 16, 2024, in Agua de Dios (Cundinamarca). There, a person who was hired to transport for the move from Bogot\u00e1 was illegally retained. Through threats, they allegedly emptied his bank accounts, stole his vehicle, and demanded 8 million pesos for his release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
