They were allegedly committing crimes since 2024.<\/i><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The evidence provided by a prosecutor of Gaula appointed to the branch Office in C\u00f3rdoba (Seccional C\u00f3rdoba) allowed a judge in Monter\u00eda to prosecute five people, allegedly involved in extortion of merchants in Montel\u00edbano, Puerto Libertador and San Jos\u00e9 de Ur\u00e9 (C\u00f3rdoba).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The people involved are: Martha Cecilia G\u00f3mez Lara, C\u00e9sar Alfonso Herrera D\u00edaz, Merly Juliana Ara\u00fajo Rojas, Manuel Alfonso Polo Pacheco and Neider Yesith P\u00e9rez Ramos who, according to their individual responsibilities, were charged with aggravated extortion and conspiracy to commit crimes for extortion purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The facts took place since 2024, when the defendants claimed to be part of Clan del Golfo and extorted merchants from Montel\u00edbano, Puerto Libertador, San Jos\u00e9 de Ur\u00e9 and their surrounding rural areas, in C\u00f3rdoba.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P\u00e9rez Ramos and Polo Pacheco were arrested on February 24 in Montel\u00edbano (C\u00f3rdoba) while G\u00f3mez Lara, Herrera D\u00edaz and Araujo Rojas were arrested on February 25 in Medell\u00edn, R\u00edonegro and Zaragoza (Antioquia) by Gaula of the National Police. None pleaded guilty to the charges. A judge imposed a prison sentence on four of the defendants. Ara\u00fajo Rojas must serve house arrest since she is pregnant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <i>The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
