{"id":43726,"date":"2025-02-24T11:19:09","date_gmt":"2025-02-24T16:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=43726"},"modified":"2025-02-24T15:35:40","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T20:35:40","slug":"the-office-of-the-attorney-general-achieved-the-conviction-of-former-leader-of-los-ronda-who-committed-crimes-in-cartagena-and-its-surroundings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2025\/02\/24\/the-office-of-the-attorney-general-achieved-the-conviction-of-former-leader-of-los-ronda-who-committed-crimes-in-cartagena-and-its-surroundings\/","title":{"rendered":"The Office of the Attorney General achieved the conviction of former leader of &#8216;Los Ronda&#8217; who committed crimes in Cartagena and its surroundings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After approving the <strong>preliminary agreement signed between the Attorney General&#8217;s Office and Willinton Baena Puerta, alias Ni\u00f1o Ronda, a judge in Cartagena sentenced him to 12 years and 2 months in prison.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Bol\u00edvar (Seccional Bolivar)\u00a0 demonstrated that this former leader of Los Ronda criminal group is responsible for the crimes of homicide, conspiracy to commit crimes; trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics; all aggravated; manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; and illicit use of personal property and real state.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the investigation, <strong>Baena Puerta coordinated illegal activities from prison, where he was since 2019, such as selective homicides, distribution of narcotic substances in sites and trafficking of firearms<\/strong> for the commission of criminal acts in Cartagena (Bol\u00edvar) and surrounding towns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the homicides that are attributed to him is the one that occurred on March 15, 2019, <strong>when unknown people with a firearm took the life of a 24-year-old man in the <em>13 de Junio \u200b\u200b<\/em>neighborhood in Bol\u00edvar.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A fine of 2,234 current legal monthly minimum wages was imposed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
