Alias \u200b\u200bJJ Guaracas or El Viejo turned himself in to the armed forces in the midst of the wave of violence that Catatumbo region, in Norte de Santander, is currently facing.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

A prosecutor appointed to the Directorate specialized in the fight against Criminal Organizations brought Marlon Franco Albernia, alias JJ Guaracas or El Viejo, to justice in Cucuta since he is one of the alleged leaders of an armed structure of the 33rd front of the FARC dissidents, which operates in Catatumbo region and the border area with Venezuela, in Norte de Santander.<\/span><\/p>\n

The evidence indicates that this person would have more than 30 armed men under his command and that would be responsible for selective homicides, extortion payments to merchants and transporters in the region, kidnappings and imposing fees on drug trafficking groups for allowing them to process and remove cocaine hydrochloride from the rural areas of Tib\u00fa and Sardinata (Norte de Santander).<\/span><\/p>\n

For these facts, the Office of the Attorney General charged him with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime. He pleaded guilty to the charges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alias \u200b\u200bJJ Guaracas or El Viejo recently turned himself in to the armed forces in the area of Las Mercedes, in Sardinata, in the midst of the wave of violence promoted by the ELN and other criminal organizations in Catatumbo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Office of the Attorney General makes this information public for reasons of general interest.<\/span><\/p>\n
