{"id":43535,"date":"2025-01-22T15:03:31","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T20:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=43535"},"modified":"2025-01-27T09:23:54","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T14:23:54","slug":"a-man-who-committed-homicide-in-meta-was-sentenced-to-more-than-42-years-in-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2025\/01\/22\/a-man-who-committed-homicide-in-meta-was-sentenced-to-more-than-42-years-in-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"A man who committed homicide in Meta was sentenced to more than 42 years in prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The evidence presented by the Attorney General&#8217;s Office allowed a judge to sentence Cristi\u00e1n Alejandro S\u00e1nchez Mart\u00ednez to 42 years and 8 months in prison, for his responsibility in the murder of a man on October 15, 2022 in the Portales del Llano neighborhood, in Villavicencio (Meta).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 27-year-old man was convicted of aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms or ammunition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A prosecutor of the so-called Unidad de Vida proved that the victim was attacked with a firearm by S\u00e1nchez Mart\u00ednez when he was fixing a motorcycle, in front of a commercial establishment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was determined that the aggressor and the victim had personal problems which caused this ending.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The judge denied the stay of execution and house arrest, therefore he will have to serve the sentence in prison, where he has been held since March 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ruling issued in the first instance was appealed by the defense attorney.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
