{"id":43509,"date":"2025-01-22T15:25:54","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T20:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=43509"},"modified":"2025-01-23T15:27:32","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T20:27:32","slug":"a-woman-who-ordered-the-murder-of-her-sentimental-partner-in-medellin-was-sentenced-to-15-years-in-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2025\/01\/22\/a-woman-who-ordered-the-murder-of-her-sentimental-partner-in-medellin-was-sentenced-to-15-years-in-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"A woman who ordered the murder of her sentimental partner in Medell\u00edn was sentenced to 15 years in prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Two other people who participated in the fact were sentenced to 20 and 22 years in prison<\/strong>.<\/span><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Considering the evidence obtained by the Attorney General&#8217;s Office, <strong>Mar\u00eda In\u00e9s Medina Rojas<\/strong> accepted, through a preliminary agreement, <strong>her responsibility as mastermind in the murder of her partner<\/strong>, in facts that took place in Buenos Aires neighborhood in Medell\u00edn (Antioquia), on February 10, 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A judge in Medell\u00edn approved the judicial negotiation and <strong>sentenced her to 15 years in prison for aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the same decision, Octavio Medina Castrill\u00f3n and Luis Eli\u00e9cer Grisales Mart\u00ednez were sentenced to 20 and 22 years in prison, respectively, who pleaded guilty to the same crimes in a preliminary agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>On the day of the crime, the victim went to work and was attacked from behind with a firearm by a man who was riding a motorcycle.<\/strong> During the attack, he tried to protect himself nearby a residential area however, the aggressor continued shooting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Office of the Attorney General proved that Medina Rojas, the victim&#8217;s partner, and Medina Castrill\u00f3n hired Grisales Mart\u00ednez to carry out the murder. It was also shown that the woman provided information about the location, description, departure time and place where he takes the bus, to facilitate the crime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of searches carried out at the houses of two of the defendants, a laptop, three cell phones, and a request for life insurance and funeral assistance for the deceased person were found.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Office of the Attorney General is awaiting approval of the preliminary agreement with Diana Johana Meneses Rojas, Grisales Mart\u00ednez&#8217;s partner, for the same facts and crimes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
