The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Carlos Alexander Mosquera, alias Diecisiete or C\u00f3rdoba; Leidy Tatiana C\u00f3rdoba Rodr\u00edguez and Yohanny S\u00e1nchez Moreno, alias Zaranta; alleged members of the ‘Clan del Golfo’, who allegedly participated in the extortion of a gas station owner in Condoto (Choc\u00f3).<\/span><\/p>\n

In this sense, a prosecutor charged him with aggravated criminal conspiracy with intent to commit homicide, extortion, and drug trafficking. He did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, it was learned that the victim was intimidated by a group of people to pay an amount of money, in exchange for not attempting against his life.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was determined that the first communication was in July 2022. A man allegedly came to his house and took him to a rural area of \u200b\u200bCondoto. In that place, armed people apparently demanded the payment of one million COP per month; in addition, he had to provide accommodation for some members of the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

In August 2022, they sent him a message again, where they asked him to close the gas station and in January 2023 they asked him for 30 million COP.<\/span><\/p>\n

The evidence shows that Quinto Mosquera was in charge of finances and, together with S\u00e1nchez Moreno, they collected the resources from miners, transporters and merchants in Condoto, Novita, Medio San Juan and Itsmina. For his part, C\u00f3rdoba Rodr\u00edguez was the person in charge of collecting the extortions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
