The investigative work of the Attorney General’s Office allowed to deal a hard blow to a criminal structure involved in petty drug dealing in the so-called<\/span> comunas<\/span><\/i> 8 and 9 of C\u00facuta (Norte de Santander).<\/span><\/p>\n

In 11 home searches that were carried out by officers of the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI), the Police and the National Army, nine alleged members of this organized crime network were arrested. The Office of the Attorney General charged them with aggravated criminal conspiracy, manufacture, trafficking, possession of narcotics and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the proceedings, the authorities seized 9 cell phones, narcotics and money that would be linked to the sale of illegal substances.<\/span><\/p>\n

The people involved are: Francia Carolina fajardo Alba, alias Francia; Nicol Julieth Ropero Alba, alias, Nico; Diofany Alba Castro, alias, La turra; Richard Sa\u00fal Pico Silva, alias Richard; Karen Yulieth Alba Castro, alias Karen; Keidy Paola Bautista, alias Keidy;\u00a0 Johan Alberto Molina Vargas, alias Le\u00f3n; Alexander Soto Ortiz, alias Alexander, and \u00c1nyelo Geovanny Soto Bayona, alias \u00c1nyelo.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the defendants would be in charge of receiving the narcotics from the Catatumbo region, then storing them and prepare drug doses and distributing them.<\/span><\/p>\n

In preliminary hearings, the Office of the Attorney General provided evidence that allowed the eight defendants to plead guilty to charges. Richard Sa\u00fal Pico Silva was sent to prison. The remaining people were placed under house arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n
