This alleged leader of a structure of FARC dissidents would be involved in different armed actions against the public force.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The Attorney General’s Office presented evidence that proves the alleged participation of Yedinson Faber Ascue, alias Edwin, alleged leader of the so-called Carlos Pati\u00f1o structure of FARC dissidents, in an attack that caused the death of a soldier and wounded three people on April 17 of this year, in El Plateado, in Argelia (Cauca).<\/span><\/p>\n

This man and other members of the illegal armed group used rifles and machine guns on several occasions, and activated explosives when units of the so-called <\/span>Comando Espec\u00edfico del Cauca<\/span><\/i>, which belongs to the Third Division of the National Army, were passing by. As a result of the violent attack, the professional soldier Diego Armando Zambrano Gonz\u00e1lez died.<\/span><\/p>\n

For these facts, a prosecutor appointed to the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations charged alias Edwin with aggravated homicide, attempted aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes; and aggravated manufacture, trafficking and possession of weapons, ammunition for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces or explosives.<\/span><\/p>\n

The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges and must serve a prison sentence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yedinson Faber Ascue was arrested in a joint operation with Dijin of the National Police, in a building in Cali (Valle de Cauca). In the proceeding, three cell phones, cocaine and other items used to deliver the drug were seized.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Office of the Attorney General makes this information public for reasons of general interest.<\/span><\/p>\n
