{"id":43042,"date":"2024-10-11T16:29:18","date_gmt":"2024-10-11T21:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=43042"},"modified":"2024-10-11T16:29:18","modified_gmt":"2024-10-11T21:29:18","slug":"the-so-called-los-castas-allegedly-responsible-for-the-local-drug-trafficking-in-cordoba-were-prosecuted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2024\/10\/11\/the-so-called-los-castas-allegedly-responsible-for-the-local-drug-trafficking-in-cordoba-were-prosecuted\/","title":{"rendered":"The so-called &#8216;Los Castas&#8217;, allegedly responsible for the local drug trafficking in C\u00f3rdoba, were prosecuted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The evidence presented by the Attorney General&#8217;s Office allowed the prosecution of eight alleged members of the criminal group known as Los Castas, who would be involved in drug dealing downtown \u200b\u200bMonter\u00eda (C\u00f3rdoba).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The people involved are Luis Andr\u00e9s Ballesteros Gonz\u00e1lez, Danna Victoria Ortega Gonz\u00e1lez, Luis Carlos Ballesteros Hern\u00e1ndez, Jorge Luis Padr\u00f3n D\u00edaz, Luis Mateo Padr\u00f3n D\u00edaz, Deiby Jos\u00e9 Gonz\u00e1lez Fl\u00f3rez, C\u00e9sar Andr\u00e9s Guerrero Quintana and Sebasti\u00e1n Andr\u00e9s Ortega Gonz\u00e1lez, who were charged by a prosecutor of the so called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estructura de Apoyo (EDA) <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as alleged responsible for the crime of trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the investigation, the defendants would be selling narcotics in Monter\u00eda, in which, in addition to clearly defining roles, they set schedules of between 8 and 12 hours to commit crimes. These illegal actions were allegedly committed since August 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defendants were arrested on October 3 by police officers during search warrant operations carried out in Nari\u00f1o, El N\u00edspero, El Dorado and Edmundo L\u00f3pez neighborhoods, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A judge imposed a prison sentence on Ballesteros Gonz\u00e1lez, Ballesteros Hern\u00e1ndez, Padr\u00f3n D\u00edaz and Ortega Gonz\u00e1lez. For his part, Gonz\u00e1lez Fl\u00f3rez must serve home detention. The other defendants will continue linked to the investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
