They did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defendants are allegedly involved in robberies of farm owners and residents of Mahates, Mar\u00eda La Baja, Arjona, San Juan, Palenque and Arroyo Hondo (Bol\u00edvar). Several of the victims were allegedly held prisoners and their families were subjected to extortion in exchange for their release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The suspects were arrested by the Gaula of the National Police on September 29 in Malagana and Palenque (Bol\u00edvar).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
