The Attorney General’s Office obtained evidence that shows the alleged participation of four alleged members of the Ar\u00edstides Manuel Meza P\u00e1ez structure of the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’, in the murder of the social leader Narciso Bele\u00f1o Belaides, recorded on April 21, in Santa Rosa (Bol\u00edvar).<\/span><\/p>\n

the people involved are Nicol\u00e1s Giraldo Quintero, alias Cartago; Juan Carlos Casta\u00f1o Cardona, alias Calvo or Paisa; Nelson Fernando Guti\u00e9rrez Arismendi, alias Malito or Mat\u00f3n; and Yenifer Barrag\u00e1n Correa.<\/span><\/p>\n

A prosecutor of the Special Investigation Unit (Unidad Especial de Investigaci\u00f3n UEI)<\/span>\u00a0charged these people with aggravated homicide; manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; and conspiracy to commit a crime. Alias \u200b\u200bMalito or Mat\u00f3n pleaded guilty to the charges.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the victim entered his house’s parking and was attacked by armed men who shot him seven times. Previously, the social leader had received several threatening pamphlets in the name of the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’, in which they questioned him for the work he performed as president of the so-called Federaci\u00f3n Agrominera del Sur de Bol\u00edvar (Agromisbol).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Attorney General’s Office moves forward in the development of a hearing for requesting a preventive detention measure against the four defendants.<\/span><\/p>\n
