The evidence presented by a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Quind\u00edo allowed a judge to send five people to prison. They are investigated for at least 12 robberies in stores, houses and public service vehicles. The incidents occurred in the Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar neighborhood in Armenia, during 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

People involved are: Eider Fabi\u00e1n Mart\u00ednez Holgu\u00edn, alias Duende; Yefri Leandro Meneses \u00c1lvarez, alias Chuky; Duver Juli\u00e1n Tavera Ben\u00edtez, alias el Calvo; Yustin Daniel G\u00f3mez Casta\u00f1o, alias Yustin and Jhon Alex\u00e1nder Avenda\u00f1o Morales, alias Avenda\u00f1o who were charged by the Prosecutor’s Office with conspiracy to commit a crime and aggravated robbery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several of the defendants violently entered premises and houses where inhabitants were subdued. They seized valuable objects and threatened them with retaliation if they denounced them. Others watched and alerted the others, a function known as \u201ccampaneros\u201d, and were strategically located on roads near the places where they would commit crimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The defendants would also be involved in threats with a sharp weapon against the driver of a public service vehicle whose money was robbed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Police arrested Meneses \u00c1lvarez, Tavera Ben\u00edtez and G\u00f3mez Casta\u00f1o on August 25 in Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar neighborhood. Mart\u00ednez Holgu\u00edn and Avenda\u00f1o Morales were notified of the criminal proceedings against them at the prison where they remain for other crimes<\/span><\/p>\n
