{"id":42543,"date":"2024-07-26T14:34:08","date_gmt":"2024-07-26T19:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=42543"},"modified":"2024-07-26T15:31:59","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T20:31:59","slug":"a-person-allegedly-responsible-for-the-disappearance-of-an-indigenous-minor-in-dabeiba-antioquia-was-sent-to-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2024\/07\/26\/a-person-allegedly-responsible-for-the-disappearance-of-an-indigenous-minor-in-dabeiba-antioquia-was-sent-to-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"A person allegedly responsible for the disappearance of an indigenous minor in Dabeiba (Antioquia) was sent to prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the request of the Attorney General&#8217;s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Alexander Mazo Cartagena, alias Mar\u00eda Monte, for the disappearance of a 12-year-old indigenous girl, in the municipality of Dabeiba, western area of Antioquia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The investigation, that was carried out in coordination with a specialized prosecutor of the Sectional Office in Antioquia revealed that on July 14, the defendant picked up the victim on a motorcycle under the pretext of taking her to his house located in a rural area of \u200b\u200bthe aforementioned town.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The judicial police work allowed to establish that at around 4 a.m. the minor crossed the so-called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Llorona<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tunnel on board the motorcycle that, it is believed, the defendant was driving, and since that moment her whereabouts are unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alias \u200b\u200bMar\u00eda Monte, 36 years old, was arrested by authorities of Sij\u00edn and Goes-National Police in a house in the municipality of Miranda (Cauca) where, he apparently was evading the action of justice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the preliminary hearings, the defendant denied his responsibility in the crime of aggravated forced disappearance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
