Gerlinson Escalante C\u00f3rdoba, allegedly involved in the theft and homicide of a veterinarian in Caquet\u00e1, was arrested by the Traffic and Transportation Police in Casanare. A preventive detention measure in prison was issued.<\/span><\/p>\n

A prosecutor of the so-called <\/span>Unidad de Vida<\/span><\/i> at the Sectional Office in Caquet\u00e1 revealed that the defendant, his brother and stepson would be responsible for the murder of a veterinary. The facts took place on January 24, apparently for stealing 26 head of cattle.<\/span><\/p>\n

The crime took place when the victim arrived at a farm he managed in El Doncello. There, the brothers Jhon Arley and Gerlinson Escalante C\u00f3rdoba were waiting for him, as well as Wilmer Eduardo Ayala Prado, the former’s stepson. It is believed that the three men gagged the victim and caused him wounds with a sharp weapon.<\/span><\/p>\n

The man’s corpse was placed in the car boot and abandoned in a lake in the rural area of Santa Cruz. Subsequently, the defendants allegedly stole the cattle that were allegedly sold for 66 million COP.<\/span><\/p>\n

On January 26, a day laborer found the veterinarian’s corpse floating in the river.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prosecutor’s Office charged Escalante C\u00f3rdoba with homicide, cattle rustling (both aggravated), and concealment, alteration or destruction of evidence. He did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, the three people who are investigated for these facts remain in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n
