The cases took place between 2023 and 2024 in Meta.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defendants were arrested in Villavicencio (Meta) and Medell\u00edn (Antioquia) by Gaula, National Police, by virtue of court orders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to their alleged responsibility in the facts, the defendants were charged with aggravated extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and criminal conspiracy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defendants were believed to be part of criminal groups and that they identified themselves as members of the so-called &#8216;Clan del Golfo&#8217; and FARC dissidents.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In one of the cases, Noel Crist\u00f3bal P\u00e9rez Cifuentes alias Lobo, Nancy Judith Dur\u00e1n Castillo, Carlos Julio Romero Medina and Nelly Patricia Parrado Luj\u00e1n were arrested as they allegedly received several deposits from a cattle breeder in Meta since 2023 through money transfer companies and banks.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P\u00e9rez Cifuentes was sent to prison for being considered as the alleged leader in this action, along with another person that was arrested in Ibagu\u00e9 (Tolima). The remaining people were prosecuted for being the collectors of deposits.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other fact led to the prosecution of Miguel Alberto Mu\u00f1iz Quinch\u00eda, Andr\u00e9s Correa Fl\u00f3rez, Viviana Estella Ch\u00e1vez Cano and Carmen Emilia Quinch\u00eda Quinch\u00eda. These people were arrested, by virtue of a court order, in search warrants carried out in Medell\u00edn (Antioquia). Jeisson Estiven Bernal Garc\u00eda, who was arrested for similar facts, was linked to the process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defendants allegedly hired the victims to perform their professions, then they kidnapped them and demanded money from their relatives in exchange for their release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The judge in the case ordered a prison sentence against Bernal Garc\u00eda and house arrest against remaining people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The information contained in this press release corresponds to the narration of the objective news provided by the officials in charge of carrying out criminal investigations within the Office of the Attorney General.
