After approving the preliminary agreement between the Attorney General’s Office and the defendant’s defense, a judge sentenced Jos\u00e9 Gregorio Pe\u00f1aranda Vega to 11 years with one month and 4 days in prison as responsible for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and possession of weapons, ammunition for restricted use, for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces or explosives (aggravated).<\/p>\n
The defendant was arrested in flagrante delicto on September 17, 2017 by National Police officers in Ni\u00f1a Ceci neighborhood in C\u00facuta (Norte de Santander), in possession of a pistol-type firearm and five 9 mm caliber cartridges, without their respective documentation<\/p>\n
Pe\u00f1aranda Vega was ordered house arrest\u00a0 in 2017, measure that was revoked on May 18, 2018, and then he was transferred to La Modelo prison in this city where he will remain until he serves the sentence.<\/p>\n
