The Sectional Office in Casanare achieved the arrest and prosecution of four men who would be responsible for several extortions in the department and who are allegedly part of the organized armed group Clan del Golfo.<\/p>\n
The investigations, judicial inspections and interceptions carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office allowed to established that Deiber Enrique Moreno Lara, Jes\u00fas Alberto Ruiz Rivas, Tirso Cadena S\u00e1nchez and Juan Mart\u00edn Guti\u00e9rrez C\u00e1ceres, were allegedly extorting merchants, peasants and ranchers in the municipalities of Man\u00ed, Tauramena, Villanueva, Monterrey, Aguazul and Yopal.<\/p>\n
After their arrest, the Prosecutor’s Office brought them before a judge of the municipality of Man\u00ed on June 24 and charged them with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime for the purpose of extortion, aggravated extortion and illegal possession of weapons. They did not plead guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n
Likewise, they must serve a sentence in prison.<\/p>\n
