After several months of monitoring, the Attorney General’s Office, through the Sectional Office Guain\u00eda – Vaup\u00e9s managed to dismantle the criminal structure known as Los del 12<\/em>, which was involved in the sale and distribution of hallucinogens in Mit\u00fa (Vaup\u00e9s), and it was evidenced that its members moved through various departments of the Orinoqu\u00eda.<\/p>\n

The investigation shows that the actions of this criminal group were initially limited to the neighborhood known as 12 de Octubre<\/em> in Vaup\u00e9s, hence its name; however, as time passed, it spread its criminal activity throughout the municipality.<\/p>\n

Thanks to denunciations filed by citizens, in which young people in the sector were affected, the investigation was initiated, and through an undercover agent, it was possible to establish the existence of the gang and identify its members<\/p>\n

This way, the arrests of the following were conducted: Andr\u00e9s Felipe Hern\u00e1ndez G\u00f3mez, alias Pipe, arrested by p\u00f3lice in\u00a0Calamar (Guaviare);\u00a0Sharly Felipe Vargas Eleman,\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Manuel Camacho Vargas, Bairon Esteban Pineda Prieto, arrested in\u00a0Mit\u00fa (Vaup\u00e9s); and Y\u00e9ferson David Loaiza Gonz\u00e1lez, arrested in the Department of\u00a0Casanare.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Attorney General charged these men with trafficking, manufacturing or possession of drugs; and use of minors in the commission of the crime. All except the last one pleaded guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n

A judge from the same population accepted the Office of the Attorney General\u00b4s request and issued a prison sentence against those investigated.<\/p>\n

Their defense attorney appealed the decision.<\/p>\n
