Seven people who were arrested would be alleged members of the so-called Primera Linea (front line) in Armenia. It is believed that they participated in acts of terrorism and vandalism in municipalities of Quind\u00edo.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Office of the Attorney General, as guarantor of the human rights protection and in compliance with its constitutional duty to investigate and clarify criminal acts, brought seven people before justice, apparently members of the so-called Primera Linea<\/em> in Armenia, for the alleged commission of illegal actions committed in the framework of violent demonstrations in various municipalities of the Department of Quind\u00edo.<\/p>\n

The Sectional Office in Quind\u00edo of the Attorney General\u00b4s Office, with the support of Sij\u00edn, arrested the individuals during search warrants carried out in Armenia.<\/p>\n

According to the evidence, those people investigated allegedly perpetrated acts of terrorism and vandalism in the municipalities of Armenia, Calarc\u00e1 and Filandia (Quind\u00edo) between April 28 and June 16.<\/p>\n

They are considered responsible for destroying the tollbooth Cruces<\/em>, located on the route (Armenia – Pereira); for the attack against an early response center (Comando de atenci\u00f3n Inmediata CAI for its initials in Spanish) in the sector known as Granada in the main city of Quind\u00edo, the vandalization of commercial establishments and residences, as well as attacks against members of the public force.<\/p>\n

The defendants were identified through testimonies, interviews, interceptions, monitoring social networks with public access, the media, and photographs.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Attorney General charged them with aggravated homicide with attempt, terrorism, violence against a public servant; aggravated use of dangerous substances or objects; disturbance in public, collective or official transport service; conspiracy to commit an aggravated crime; obstruction of public roads that affect public order; and aggravated damage to property.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Attorney General’s Office is analyzing the possible links between\u00a0 Primera Linea<\/em> in Cali, in Armenia and Pereira, which have allowed the commission of multiple crimes in the southwestern part of the country and the coffee-growing region. Likewise, the Attorney General’s Office has an investigative line to determine the people and groups that have been financing this Primera Linea<\/em>, \u201dsaid Attorney General Francisco Barbosa.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Attorney General makes this information public for reasons of general interest.<\/p>\n
