{"id":39977,"date":"2021-06-08T20:25:09","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T01:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=39977"},"modified":"2021-06-22T11:52:32","modified_gmt":"2021-06-22T16:52:32","slug":"the-attorney-generals-office-presents-new-results-of-the-pmu-from-april-28-to-june-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2021\/06\/08\/the-attorney-generals-office-presents-new-results-of-the-pmu-from-april-28-to-june-6\/","title":{"rendered":"The Attorney General\u00b4s Office presents new results of the PMU from April 28 to June 6\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation presented consolidated information about the judicial actions carried out by the institution within the framework of the judicial command post (Puesto de Mando Unificado PMU for its initials in Spanish) to investigate the criminal behaviors that have occurred since last April 28, when the national strike began.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The PMU is made up of officials from different entities whose main purpose is to clarify the facts that have affected citizens\u2019 lives and integrity within the framework of respect and defense of human rights. 224 charges have been brought in 39 days and 80 people have preventive detention orders.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en-US\">Offenses that were committed:<\/span><\/b><b><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">So far, the charges that have been brought are: theft, violence against a public servant, damage to someone else&#8217;s property, obstruction of public roads that affect public order; manufacture, trafficking or possession of firearms; possession, manufacture, and trafficking of dangerous substances or objects; terrorism, fire, disruption in public or official transportation, receiving stolen property, use or launching of dangerous substances or objects, threats, use of minors in the commission of crimes, homicide,\u00a0\u00a0kidnapping with extortion; trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs, instigate others to commit a crime, violation of sanitary measures, conspiracy to commit a crime and illegal use of uniforms and insignia<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Most of the accusations were brought at the Sectional Offices of: Bogot\u00e1, Cali, Caldas, Medell\u00edn, Cundinamarca, Quind\u00edo and Risaralda.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en-US\">Damages caused by violent acts:<\/span><\/b><b><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">In matters of infrastructure at the national level, there have been attacks against 194 early response centers of the National Police in Colombia<i>\u00a0(<\/i>Comando de atenci\u00f3n Inmediata CAI for its initials in Spanish), and 203 vehicles of the National Police, 62 gas stations, 242 banks, 107 ATM, 318 public institutions, 38 tollbooths, and 364 lootings were committed in warehouses.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Bogot\u00e1 D.C June 8, 2021<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Office of the Attorney\u00b4s General and the Delegate Office on Public safety<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">PMU assessment. From April 28 to June 6\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en-US\">Main results of PMU<\/span><\/b><b><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Charges were brought against 224 people for crimes committed between April 28 and June 6<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Preventive detention orders were issued for 80 people\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Attacks were committed against:<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">194 CAI<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">203 vehicles of the National Police<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">62 gas stations<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">242 banks<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">107 ATM<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">318 public institutions\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">38 tollbooths<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">364 lootings in warehouses<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">970 crime reports about 1063 police officers that were injured.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The departments where violent acts were committed the most: Valle del Cauca, Caldas, Antioquia, Boyac\u00e1, Cundinamarca, Risaralda, Cauca, Santander, Atl\u00e1ntico, Sucre, Bol\u00edvar, Tolima, Magdalena, Meta and Huila.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Attorney General\u00b4s Office prioritized 498 cases of civilians injured in violent demonstrations. For these facts, 429 crime reports were opened for alleged abuse of authority and personal injuries.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">On the other hand, there are 970 crime reports about 1063 police officers that were injured.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Since April 28, the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa, assigned more than 35 groups formed by groups of prosecutors, CTI judicial police, National Police, and Legal Medicine personnel, experts in each of the lines addressed to guarantee the protection of fundamental rights and access to justice. The Attorney General\u00b4s Office will continue with the necessary talks to advance in the clarification of violent acts.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en-US\">Last week, the Attorney General\u2019s Office yielded the following results:<\/span><\/b><b><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Four people were arrested for being allegedly responsible for the crimes of terrorism and aggravated theft in financial entities in the city of Cali.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">A prison sentence was issued for three men who were charged with terrorism. The facts took place on May 4th at a bank located in sector La Luna sector in Cali.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">A prison sentence was issued for a person for the commission of aggravated theft on May 29th in a bank in the city of Cali.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">A detention measure was issued against thirteen people and a minor was sent to a juvenile detention center. They would be responsible for setting fire to three CAI and two motorcycles of the National Police between April 28th and May 4th.
