In the municipality of Honda (Tolima) an extraordinary meeting was held with the directors of both Sectional Offices and with the authorities of the region.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n


\nAs part of the policy “En la calle y en los territorios<\/i>”\u00a0<\/span>(near people and territories)\u00a0<\/span>to strengthen the institutional presence in all corners of the country, the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, visited the municipalities of Mariquita and Honda (Tolima) on January 14th to meet with the personnel and learn about the situations that citizens demand in justice matters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The head of the institution also held a meeting with the Sectional directors in Tolima and Cundinamarca to analyze the figures and behavior of crime in the area, since there is a criminal corridor between these departments, and intervention strategies must be transverse and coordinated. The Attorney General together with the Deputy Attorney Martha Mancera, the Delegate Director on Public Safety and other staff members visited the municipalities of Mariquita and Honda in response to this intervention strategy that is part of the decentralization policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a matter of fact, the Attorney General Barbosa and his staff held a meeting with the Police Commanders and the National Army of this region at\u00a0Universidad La Gran Colombia<\/i>\u00a0in Honda to develop joint actions to strengthen public safety, to fight crime, and mainly combat the criminal phenomena that have been taking place in the criminal corridor established between the Departments of Cundinamarca, Tolima and Caldas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The joint work developed in accordance with the objectives defined in the Strategic Direction, allowed to give hard blows in those Departments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

TOLIMA\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

  • The criminal organization La Frontera del Norte received a hard blow\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Sectional Office in Tolima obtained a detention measure against four alleged members of this criminal structure, including their alleged leader Jos\u00e9 Camilo Reina Prada, alias Sult\u00e1n, for aggravated criminal conspiracy to commit crimes, use of minors in the commission of crimes, and trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The organization La Frontera del Norte was involved in micro-trafficking and the commission of selective homicides in Mariquita and Honda (Tolima), due to the territorial dispute over the control of the illegal drug business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    With the dismantling of the criminal gang, the clarification of 8 murders perpetrated in 2019 and 2020 as well as 2 attempted murders was achieved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Detentions for sexual crimes against a minor\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Due to the sexual acts committed against a 10-year-old girl in Purificaci\u00f3n (Tolima) since 2018, two men, his 45-year-old half-brother and his 19-year-old nephew, were sentenced to prison. Both defendants will be charged.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      As a result of the attack, the minor got pregnant and gave birth last year. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      CUNDINAMARCA\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

      • Dismantling criminal group\u00a0La Empresa<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The Sectional Office in Cundinamarca with the support of the\u00a0<\/span>Technical Investigative Corps (Cuerpo Tecnico de Investigaci\u00f3n CTI)<\/span>\u00a0dismantled this criminal group with the arrest of\u00a0\u00a027 of its alleged members during 35 search warrants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        According to the investigation, this group was involved in multiple crimes that affect citizens, such as murders, forced disappearance and drug trafficking. The criminal group La Empresa is considered responsible for 12 murders committed in the Department of Cundinamarca during 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        The arrested people were prosecuted for the crimes of murder, conspiracy to commit a crime; trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs; and possession of firearms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        • Hard blow against criminal group Los Brasil<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Eight alleged members of the Criminal Group Los Brasil were charged before a supervisory judge in the municipality of Nari\u00f1o (Cundinamarca). They were allegedly involved in the robbery of motorcycles in various areas of the Departments of Tolima and Cundinamarca.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          A prison sentence was issued against the arrested people for the commission of aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime and manufacture, trafficking or possession of a firearm. Facts took place between 2019 and 2020 in Girardot and Ricaurte (Cundinamarca) and in Flandes, Carmen de Apical\u00e1 and Chaparral (Tolima).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          The Office of the Attorney General makes this information public for reasons of general interest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
