{"id":39549,"date":"2020-12-11T09:26:10","date_gmt":"2020-12-11T14:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=39549"},"modified":"2020-12-14T08:51:08","modified_gmt":"2020-12-14T13:51:08","slug":"adenunciar-broadens-its-services-and-is-available-to-assist-victims-of-gender-based-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/12\/11\/adenunciar-broadens-its-services-and-is-available-to-assist-victims-of-gender-based-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"ADenunciar broadens its services and is available to assist victims of gender-based violence"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"_3U2q6dcdZCrTrR_42Nxby JWNdg1hee9_Rz6bIGvG1c allowTextSelection\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">In a joint work to benefit citizens, the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police, activated in the virtual platform \u00a1<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>ADenunciar!<\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0a new option for victims of gender-based violence to report their cases in a prompt and timely manner through cell phone or a computer.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, has prioritized the strengthening of the National Virtual Complaint System \u00a1<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>ADenunciar!<\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0to guarantee a prompt and effective access to justice services.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Once a citizen has completed a form related to the option\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u2018violencia basada en g\u00e9nero\u2019\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">(gender-based violence), the information registered will be reviewed by personnel of the Office of the Attorney General who will carry out the actions according to each case. The result of this verification will be informed to the citizen through email.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">In a first period of verification of the option of\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>\u2018<\/i><\/span><i><span lang=\"en-US\">violencia basada en g\u00e9nero\u2019<\/span><\/i><span lang=\"en-US\">, between June 19 and November 30 of the current year, 4,760 criminal reports were opened in\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>ADenunciar.\u00a0<\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">The highest number of reports was opened in the city of Bogot\u00e1 (1,062) and in the departments of Antioquia (621), Valle del Cauca (611), Cundinamarca (491), Atl\u00e1ntico (279), Bol\u00edvar (192) and Santander (173). In 30 departments and 391 cities, citizens have used the option\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u2018<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>violencia basada en g\u00e9nero\u2019<\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0to inform the authorities about their cases.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">You can access\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>\u00a1ADenunciar!\u00a0<\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">through the web pages\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">www.fiscalia.gov.co<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">and\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.policia.gov.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">www.policia.gov.co<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><u><span lang=\"en-US\">Gender- based violence<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">It is a type of violence against a person, due to the gender, identity or expression. This violence can be perpetrated by people of the opposite sex or with a diverse gender identity. Gender-based violence may occur in different crimes, such as domestic violence, sexual assault or sexual acts, attempted murder or femicide, torture, personal injury, illegal restraint, injury and damage to someone else&#8217;s property, among others.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><u><span lang=\"en-US\">Types of violence<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Physical: it is an action that generates risk or decreases physical integrity.
